Welcome to Frazine Wellness
Feel Like Your Old Self Again
During perimenopause and menopause, the body’s production of estrogen and progesterone declines. This hormonal imbalance can lead to a variety of symptoms that vary in severity among women. Hormone replacement therapy can be an effective treatment to alleviate these symptoms and improve the quality of life for many women.
Every woman’s experience with perimenopause and menopause is unique, and the choice to pursue hormone replacement therapy is a personal one. It is crucial to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide individualized guidance, assess risks and benefits, and help determine the most suitable treatment plan based on each woman’s needs and health profile.

What to Expect
The Hormone Replacement Therapy Process
1
Consultation
Before your hormone replacement therapy consultation visit in Paducah, you will receive some forms through the patient portal. These should be filled out prior to the visit so that the provider will have a clear idea of the problems you would like to discuss. During the visit you will discuss your concerns and symptoms. Examination and laboratory testing may be done. You should allow 60-75 minutes for your first visit, and within 48 hours, you will receive a digital treatment and follow up plan through our app.
2
Hormone Replacement Therapy
If hormone replacement therapy is decided as a suitable treatment by your provider, you’ll use your medication as prescribed in a home setting. You will have a follow up visit in 6-8 weeks.
3
Follow Up Visits
You’ll begin to experience the results of your hormone replacement therapy after several weeks, with full results setting in after 3 months. At your follow visit, your provider will evaluate your treatment response and discuss any side effects. Your treatment plan will be adjusted if needed since one size does not fit all. It may take multiple tweaking sessions to get the right fit for you. Once we have determined your best treatment plan, follow up visits will be every 6 months.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is hormone replacement therapy (HRT)?
-
HRT is a treatment that involves supplementing or replacing hormones, typically estrogen and/or progesterone, and possibly testosterone to alleviate symptoms caused by hormonal imbalances, such as those experienced during menopause.
- Is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) safe?
-
HRT can be safe and effective when used appropriately and under the guidance of a healthcare professional. However, risks and benefits vary for each individual, and it is important to discuss your medical history, family history, and any potential contraindications with your healthcare provider.
- What are the risks for HRT?
-
HRT may carry certain risks and potential side effects. These can include an increased risk of blood clots, stroke, heart disease, and, in some cases, breast cancer. However, the risks and benefits need to be evaluated on an individual basis, as most of these risks are low for most women.
- What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?
-
BHRT involves using hormones that are structurally identical to the hormones naturally produced in the human body. These hormones, such as estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone, are derived from natural sources, usually plant-based, and undergo a process to match their molecular structure to the hormones produced by the body.
BHRT is typically prescribed and regulated by healthcare professionals. The hormones used in BHRT are available in standardized doses and are approved by regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
BHRT is available in various forms, including pills, patches, gels, creams, vaginal rings, and injections. The dosage and treatment plan are tailored to individual needs based on hormone testing and clinical evaluation. - How are compounded hormones different from commercially manufactured drugs?
-
Compounded hormones are custom-made hormone preparations created by specialized compounding pharmacies. These pharmacies combine different ingredients to produce hormone formulations that are not commercially available.
Compounded hormones may contain bioidentical hormones or non-bioidentical hormones, depending on the specific prescription. They can be customized in terms of dosage, strength, and delivery method to meet individual patient needs.
It’s important to note that there is ongoing debate and varying opinions among healthcare professionals regarding the use of compounded hormones. Some argue that customized compounded hormones may provide individualized treatment options for patients with specific needs. However, others raise concerns about the lack of standardized dosing, potential inconsistencies, and the need for thorough regulation and oversight. - Who is not a candidate for hormone replacement therapy?
-
People who suffer from blood clots, cancer, heart disease, heart attacks, liver disease, or strokes are not candidates for hormone replacement therapy.
- Can HRT be used for men?
-
Yes, hormone replacement therapy can be used for men experiencing hormonal imbalances or andropause (male menopause). Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is commonly prescribed to address symptoms such as fatigue, decreased libido, and mood changes.
- Can HRT be used for contraception?
-
HRT does not provide contraception. If pregnancy is a concern, alternative birth control methods should be used, as HRT does not protect against pregnancy.
